Firstfruits began with an idea: How could women’s needs to gather with other women, experience God’s love and go forth more centered on their own giftedness and purpose be met? Then the Holy Spirit stepped in and something powerful happened!
In the beginning … Firstfruits began as a vision for a women’s ministry whose purpose was to gather women to experience God’s love. And as a result, be transformed!

As word spread about this unique opportunity, other parishes became interested in hosting a Firstfruits gathering. It became apparent to the founders of Firstfruits that this “gathering” needed to be moveable. We became known as a moveable feast of spiritual opportunities for women.

“You have made us for yourself. Our hearts are restless until we rest in you.”
St. Augustine of Hippo

Do you feel a yearning to want more for your life with the beginning of another new year? This human longing is the Spirit, calling us to deeper intimacy with God. Join us for four weeks in January as we gather for prayer and meditation. Each session will highlight a different spiritual practice, or practice of love, to help us grow closer to God and others. Please note, half of our time will involve praying using that week’s practice. To benefit from this series, attendees are strongly encouraged to try out each week’s prayer and meditation practice on their own.

Unwrapping the Gift That Is You
Feb 6 @ 9:30 am – 11:00 am

God is calling you to a unique purpose in life, a work of love that only you can do. He has gifted you with charisms or spiritual gifts to carry out that work. Our charisms are clues to God’s purpose for our lives. Have you asked yourself lately “Is this all there is?” Have you felt restless and unsettled in life, wondering what you should be doing? Are you at a place in life where you are assessing what to do next or where God might be calling you? Come and learn more about what charisms are. Begin to discern what your charisms might be and where God might be calling you to use them to bring goodness to the world and great joy to your life.

As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.    1 Peter 4:10

*This talk is an introduction to the Called and Gifted six week series that will be offered starting Tuesday, February 20, 9:30-11:30am or Saturday, February 24,9:30-11:30.

Putting on the Mind of Christ towards My Spouse
Feb 8 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

We have all heard the saying, “You are what you think.”  This saying could easily apply to our marriages. In many ways, healthy marriages are most strongly affected by effective thinking patterns of spouses.

If couples are asked, they often say that they would like to improve the communication in their marriage. In this presentation, we are going to explore an important ingredient to communication that doesn’t even involve saying a word to our spouse. We are going to examine the vital question “How do I think about my spouse?”  Then even more importantly, we are going to uncover how we can put on the “Mind of Christ” towards our spouse.

Please join Tammy Groszczyk, Catholic Marital Therapist as we discuss this topic, combined with humor and the joy of our faith.

Numbers: Limited to 25 couples.

Weekly Word – Reflections on the Sunday Readings

Reading and reflecting on the Sunday readings before attending Mass can expand our understanding and prayerful experience of the liturgy. It can also clear up the mystery of readings we find confusing by placing them into the context they were meant to be heard. Come with a Bible, “The WORD Among Us,” or a similar Catholic magazine or app of the daily readings. Be prepared to listen, share and pray as we are led by the Spirit.

Offered every Friday morning.  Moving to Thursdays starting May 17th, 2018.

Presenter: Debra Schneider
